So that we can provide you with the quality of care you deserve we ask that patients make appointments if at all possible. If you require more immediate attention please contact us as we always have time set aside each day to accommodate emergencies.
Every endeavour will be made in the interests of continuity of care to book you in with your regular doctor and to accommodate your preferred appointment time.
If you require some extra time please ask our staff for a longer consultation particularly if it is for a medical assessment in which case you may also need to be booked in with our nurses.
Please discuss this with our reception team who will be able to assist you with this booking.
If you or a family member require an interpreter service we can organise this for you also. Please let us know when you make the appointment.
If for any reason you are unable to attend your appointment we would appreciate you contacting us as soon as practicable if you wish to cancel your appointment so that we may offer this slot for our other patients.

Getting the Result of Any Test or Procedure
Your doctor will advise when they expect the results to arrive at the practice.
So that we may provide you with the best possible care for the continued promotion of your health needs please make an appointment with your regular doctor to obtain any results.
If the result if of an urgent nature we will contact you to make a follow up appointment with your doctor.
If any of your contact details have changed since your last visit, please ensure you advise our reception team.
Our practice is committed to preventative health services. We may issue you with a reminder letter from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care (eg. pap smears, immunisations, health assessments).
If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let us know at reception.
Bulk-Billing and Consultation Fees
Morningside Family Medical Centre is both a bulk billing and private billing practice.
We bulk bill all patients (new and existing) as long as you have a current medicare card, the visit is a Medicare related standard consultation and you ask for a bulk billing doctor between the hours of 8.30am to 4.45pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 8.30am – 12.30pm (EXCEPTIONS APPLY DURING CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR PERIOD). Ensure you bring this card to your appointment as without a Medicare card we may not be able to bulk bill you.
If the consultation is for a longer appointment, the completion of paperwork, pap smears, Implanon® removal and/or insertion, mental health care plans, Insurance medicals, private fund medicals, surgical procedures, treatment room procedures etc. THESE WILL NOT BE BULK BILLED AND WILL INCUR A FEE. If unsure please contact our friendly team on 3395 8577 to discuss the matter further so that we may offer you the best appointment for you and discuss any associated fees if applicable.
Dr Shaw, Dr Suri and Dr Kyaw are our bulk billing doctors and will bulk bill standard consultations.
Dr Nemetallah privately bills only.
Bulk billing hours for standard consultations are only from 8am to 4.45pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12.30pm Saturdays. Any appointments out of these hours will incur a fee which if rebateable from Medicare if you hold a current Medicare Card.
